In Monasteries and at certain times in Parishes, a Talanton (Semantron) is used to call believers to the Church for Prayer. This is how Noah called all the animals to the Ark for their salvation, he also called all people too but they did not listen. And likewise, we are called to come into the Church which signifies the Ark, where we find Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and Salvation through Him.
