December 15th: Enthronement as Patriarch of Constantinople
His great love, wisdom and spirituality led Saint John to be chosen and Ordained as the Patriarch of Constantinople.

It has become a Holy Tradition that each year on his Feast Day, his Icon is placed on the Throne in the Church of Constantinople, and the residing Patriarch moves to the Throne beside Saint John Chrysostom.
