One evening, when Saint David was three years old, Saint John the Forerunner appeared to him and led him by the hand to his Church which was nearby. Saint John then went into his Icon and Saint David spent six days and nights in Prayer kneeling in front of the Holy Icon of Saint John. When his father finally found him, he could see the face of his son Saint David was shining with a Heavenly Light. Saint David’s childhood was spent in much love, asceticism, obedience to his parents and ceaseless Prayer.
