As a young child Saint Haralambos would Pray to God in a cave during hours when everyone else would rest. He had a burning desire for Asceticism and to live the Commandments of God. He had Holy Visions of the Mother of God throughout his life, and these led him to the Monastery of Panagia Kalyviani when he was forty years old. He worked hard to restore the Monastic lifestyle at the Monastery which at the time was being oppressed.
