Saint John reposed on May 27th 1730 in the stable where he lived and took care of the animals. Saint John was given a Christian burial by the request of his master who came to love and respect him, and he also placed an expensive carpet onto the coffin of Saint John – this was a custom of the time which showed the master’s great honour and love for Saint John.
