Prayers
Troparion – Tone 5: You were shown as a radiant beacon of wisdom, and a Divinely-established champion of Orthodoxy, O great Photios, blessed adornment of the Fathers; you refuted the innovations of boastful heresy, O radiance of the Church, which you kept unshaken.
Troparion – Tone 4: Being of one mind with the Apostles and a teacher of the entire world, O Photios, intercede with the Master of all that He may grant peace to the world, and to our Souls great mercy.
Kontakion – Tone 8: Now let us crown the far-shining star of the Church with garlands of Hymns, the God-inspired guide of the Orthodox, the Divinely-sounded harp of the Spirit, and the steadfast adversary of heresy, and let us cry to him: “Hail, most honoured Photios.”
“It is truly necessary that we observe all things, but above all, that which pertains to matters of Faith, in which but a small deviation represents a deadly sin.”

“To those who confess that the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father alone, with no intermediary, just as the Son is begotten from the Father alone, with no intermediary, according to the testimony of God the Word Himself to His Apostles at the season of His Passion for the Salvation of the world when He said, ‘But when the Comforter is come, Whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, He shall testify of Me’ [Jn. 15:261], and to those who accept unaltered this Divine testament of Our God and Savior, Jesus Christ, ETERNAL MEMORY.”
