Saint Tryphon is the Patron Saint of birds. This is because one day Tsar Ivan the Terrible was hunting and his helper accidentally let his favourite felcon fly away. The Tsar ordered him to find the bird, so he Prayed to his Patron Saint, Saint Tryphon, to help him find the bird, otherwise the Tsar was going to kill him. This man Tryphon had a dream of Saint Tryphon on a white horse holding the Tsar’s falcon on his hand and said “Take the lost bird, go to the Tsar and do not grieve.” When the young Tryphon awoke, he saw the falcon on a pine tree, took it to the Tsar recounting the Miraculous help from Saint Tryphon.
